The 2000s were filled with comically cringey infomercials about aiding “helpless” Africans. As an Ethiopian-American. I thought it would be funny to flip the script and highlight the misery of suburban American life.

After Trump commented that disinfectant could be a cure to Covid-19, I embarked on creating a satirical photo series, Covid Compliance, to highlight the absurdity of that time. This video is a short teaser of the photo series.

As an artist and archivist, I have found that simply posting your artwork on social media seldom gets your work in front of the audiences you want to reach. To navigate that, I create video content that highlights artistry while using social frameworks to best get peoples attention.
In this process I have found that people are more curious about the process and thought behind art than just the art itself!

Maven Clinic needed some help creating content for their customers navigating motherhood during the isolation of Covid-19. In this video I filmed a Pediatrician that demonstrated how to burp a baby.

While navigating the grief of my father, I began creating mixed media animations by hand using archived family tapes. To add dimension to the story, I filmed B-roll of my present day self to incorporate into the video.
